In retail, lighting is less decoration and more a sales tool. The right light draws customers in, makes products attractive and carries the brand's character. The wrong light makes even the finest product look ordinary.

01The Window: First Impression

The window should have the store's highest illuminance — typically 750 lux and above. Highlight products with narrow-beam, high-lumen spots; enough brightness is essential to beat daytime glass reflection.

02Display and Contrast

  • Establish at least 3:1, ideally 5:1 contrast between ambient and accent light.
  • Show fabric, leather and skin tones realistically with high CRI (≥90).
  • Gain flexibility with track systems; reposition spots as seasons change.

03Brand-Fitting Color Temperature

For textiles and jewelry, warm tones (3000K) make products inviting; for tech and appliances, neutral white (4000K) gives a clean, modern feel. Match color temperature to the brand identity.
