LED
Short definition
Light Emitting Diode; a technology that produces light by passing electricity through a semiconductor. It offers up to 80% energy savings and a very long life compared to incandescent lamps.
In detail
Also known as solid-state lighting (SSL), LED works with semiconductors instead of filaments or gas, producing less heat and energy loss. Its directional light, instant switching and dimming flexibility make it the foundation of modern architectural lighting.
